Caring for your Hair

One of the most important aspects of beauty is your hair, and it pays to take care of it well. It is the single most important part of your body in changing the way you look, your style, and even sometimes your personality.  But having a healthy mane of hair doesn’t come easy for everyone, and for some, it’s more difficult. What are the ways to maintain a healthy mane of hair if you’re one of those born with a difficult mane? We share some tips for maintaining healthy hair. 

Washing your Hair

Contrary to traditional beliefs, washing your hair regularly helps to make sure your scalp and hair are free of dirt and oil. Oil attracts more dirt, and the more dirt it attracts, the more oil is produced, and you can start to see where this goes. How often you wash your hair depends on the kind of hair you have and your lifestyle. For a van lifer, it would be impractical (or even impossible) to wash your hair every day if you are not parked close to convenient shower facilities. 

Choose the Right Shampoo

The kind of shampoo matters as well. Basically, the fewer ingredients it has, the better it will be for you. It generally leads to healthier hair. You should always look for shampoos with fewer chemicals as these would prevent skin irritation for those with a more sensitive scalp. 

Air Dry your Hair

One of the most damaging things you can do to your lovely mane is to attack it with a hair dryer. Besides the hot temperatures that can damage your hair cells, the heat can agitate an already sensitive scalp. You should limit using a hair dryer to a minimum. Pick that little jet engine up only on special occasions and important events. For your daily routine, just let it dry out naturally.
